While speaking with pressmen in his office at State Secretariat after the inauguration at Obio/Akpor, he said that they have just started by setting up the sanitation monitoring committee at the local level which is headed by chancellors and their grassroot supporters at their various wards.

He added that what the ministry is expecting from them is to work effectively in the relevant State institution which includes the Environmental Authority, the ministry at Environment, the health officers boot at the State and the local level. He also said that they have given them the same ultimatum which have been given to street traders or hawkers within the wards, adding that they need be ensure that hawking is outlawed completely and removed from the street, while defaulters sent to sanitation court for prosecution.
